As someone who enjoys Winter and lots of snow, I’m not very impressed with Mother Nature at this point. We’re off to a slow start this season. Hopefully by the time you’re reading this article, we’re received a healthy dose of snow and the trails are open for riding.
An update of info from last month’s article: The state-wide online Club Membership website has been put on temporary hold until some legal matters have been worked out. Hopefully that website will be up and running soon.
On a good note though OHRV registrations are now available at the Strafford Town Office during normal business hours. See Judy. She’ll also have Swamp Stomper membership applications on hand. Membership applications are also available at Rochester Sports Center in Barrington, Dover Marine/Covered Bridge Sports in Dover, Morrison’s Cycle in Madbury, St. Hilaire Motorsports in Barrington, Bickford’s Sports Center in Epsom and Log Home Hardware in Nottingham. Blank forms are also available to pick up at The Isinglass Store here in town.
A reminder to stay on the marked trails. Most of our trails are on private property which the Club has secured permission for use as a snowmobile trail from our many generous land owners. Please do not jeopardize our trail system by taking part in some “off-trail adventures”.
On February 6th we will be holding our annual Bonfire/Cookout & Ride-In (conditions permitting)at the home of Club President Shawn Barry. The Swamp Stompers will again be providing hamburgers and hot dogs, soda and water. BYOB. Please feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share. All snowmobilers and friends are welcome to attend. This is a free event open to all. Donations are accepted of course. If you’ve attended any of our past events, you know this is a good time for kids and adults.
