Finally, some snow has arrived here in Strafford!! It looks like people have been able to get out and enjoy the trails a bit after our big Nor’easter. The trails have been marked for the most part, but please use caution and common sense when riding and remember to, RESPECT THE TRAILS!
We have seen a number of member registrations for this year but if you have not yet sent in your club membership, please do so. You can get a form on our website, at Sheila’s Deli, here in town, or at any of the local snowmobile dealerships.
If you are not aware, we also have the new Park-n-Ride at the bottom of Mile Hill on Route 202A at Hydrant Rd. It is easy access to the trails. There are signs here to designate the parking area.
At our January meeting we discussed the Easter Seals Ride-in taking place in February at Dixville Notch. The club has donated $200.00 this year to benefit the Easter Seals Foundation. And don’t forget the NHSA Raffle on February 6th. Tickets are only $5.00 and there are still a few available from club President Shawn Barry.
On February 12th is the annual club Bonfire. Weather permitting, we will have a club ride in the morning, followed this year by sled demos courtesy of Rochester Sports Center. The Demo will be from 2-4 PM and the bonfire and related festivities will take place immediately following. As always we will have burgers, dogs, chicken and all sorts of other great food items, including once again, Caryn’s awesome chili!! This is sure to be a great time so come on out for the day, bring the family and have some fun!! Ride in or walk-ins are welcome. Please RSVP via e-mail or phone to club President Shawn Barry (see contact page) so we can get a head count for the events. And folks, this is one event that has that seldom seen four letter word….FREE, to all club members and trail landowners!
The next club meeting will be on Thursday, February 10th at Nippo Lake Golf Club @ 7:00 PM. We will have our social night scheduled for February 24th where maybe we can do a club ride. Check the website for info as we get closer.
