Newsletter October 15, 2009
By Chris Maloy 10-15-09
Greetings all!! Our October meeting was very productive. We have completed the new maps and they should be back from the printers by the time you read this update.
They will be available at several area businesses including Rochester Sports Center, on RT. 125 in Barrington, Morrison’s Cycle in Madbury on Rt. 9, Bickford’s on Rt. 4 in Epsom and also the Blue Loon, the Isinglass Country Store and of course through the club as well. These maps are on a laminated paper with waterproof ink. You will definitely be glad to have one of these to carry with you on your snowmobiling trips. And don’t forget to patronize all of our great sponsors, listed on the back of the map. Again, a great big THANK YOU, to all of those sponsors for their generous donations. Another big Thank You, to Keegan Carter as well, for all the hours he spent working on the advertising layout and map design. And thanks to Drew Carter, Shawn Barry and Chris Maloy for all of the efforts that they put into the project.
There are several projects underway involving a new proposed “Park n’ Ride”, and new bridge railings on the Pig Lane bridge. Members have been working closely with other town groups and the state to iron out the details and we will let you know as news develops. Speaking of projects, we are always working on the trails most every weekend.
Members leave from the Bow Lake Grange Hall on Sunday mornings at 9:00AM. There is always plenty to do and all are welcome. What a great way to get some fresh air, do a bit of hiking and some exercise all while enjoying the great outdoors.
For those of you looking for something to do, the New Hampshire 2009 Snowmobile/ATV Winter Expo is being held on Oct. 30, 31 and November 1 at the Rockingham Park. You can visit: www.NHSnowShow.com for more info. Also, the Manchester Monarchs are having an NHSA Night on Saturday, November 7th at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Tickets are only $12.00 by calling the NHSA Office at (603) 273-0220. They are also sponsoring a coat drive that night, so do bring any unwanted coats to help families in need.
Membership forms should be in your hands, so please return them as soon as possible so that we can get your membership card to you before you register your sleds this year. The membership form is also available online for you to print off and mail in if you have not received one or would like to join the club as a new member. We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with various projects so please join us for meetings or contact a member through the website.
As always, we are holding monthly meetings every second Thursday of the month at the Nippo Lake Golf Club, in Barrington, NH. Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 7:00PM. Please come and join us for information about our local club and to offer any ideas that you may have to share. We will also be getting together for social meetings on the forth Thursday of the month at Nippo Lake Golf Club where you can meet other local enthusiasts to “TALK SNOW” and once the snow flies get together for club trail rides.
If you are unable to attend the meetings but would like to know what is happening in the club, you can e-mail Shawn Barry at the address listed or again check out the website for updates.
